Selectmen's minutes of 2/19/02
SELECTMEN’S MINUTES
2/19/2002

PRESENT:  Jeffrey Jordan, Theodore Bailey, Judy Kenneally

OLD BUSINESS:

The minutes of 2/12/02 were not ready for signatures.

NEW BUSINESS:

Subject:  Road Agent Assistant, A J May
Highlights:

Selectman Bailey reported a different design for cul-de-sacs.  Pembroke built a tear drop style that looks like it would work much better.  A J will take a look.  A J said he would also prefer to eliminate the dirt center of the circle.  This would provide for easier maintenance.

AJ reported a problem with ice on Canterbury Road near the Heggie residence.

A J reported concrete being dumped on the side of Bear Hill Road.   A J will stop to talk to the owner.  Judy was instructed to contact NH-DES to inquire about permits.  She will also contact Phoenix Concrete to see if they have permits to dump.

Subject:  Bart & Marka Defina
Highlights:

Mr. Defina said he should have been told that impact fees were required.  He didn’t find out until he requested a building permit.  He is asking for a reduction or abatement on the fee.  The Board denied the request.  Mr. Defina should have been notified by the seller.  Chairman Jordan suggested he appeal to the Board of Adjustment.

Subject:  Board Discussion
Highlights:

The budget and warrant were signed and will be posted tomorrow.

The new officers are graduating part-time police academy on February 23.

Judy researched the term of an appointed road agent.  RSA 669:74 states that the appointed road agent serves until the end of the term.  In our case, the term will expire 2003.

Respectfully submitted,
